Current Research Opportunities

Here you can find different research projects that we are working on in which you can take part.

Could you be a Super-recogniser?

This short 14-trial face recognition test is designed to probe your ability to recognise faces after only briefly seeing them and has now been taken by over 6 million people.

Scoring high might mean that you have exceptional abilities and you will be able to opt in for even more detailed tests.

The test is available in 7 languages!

win £50 and help to develop a new test

We regularly create new face recognition tests as we can only use them once with super-recognisers. We are constructing a new test and to make it difficult we need a series of photos of the same people taken over a period of time so we can measure the influence of ageing. If for instance, you are 22-years, we would like one photo of you at 22-years, one at 21-years, one at 20-years etc etc. Best are images when you were looking at the camera. The minimum requirement is 4 photos - maximum 12 photos. The more photos you upload, the higher the chance of winning £50! Read more here at our blog or take part by clicking the button below!

Are you good at voice recognition?

We are looking for people who think they may have superior voice recognition abilities. If you think this is you, please take part! You will complete a voice memory and voice matching test. Note – if you have not taken any test before from our research group, you will be asked to take part in the face recognition tests first.

Beat the computer and win £50

Can you "Beat the Computer" at matching facial composites with a photo of the person they are supposed to depict?

In this study you will be asked to view a series of 50 facial composites and rate them for similarity to a photo of the target. It will likely take 5 minutes.

If you take part, you may enter one of four prize draws for Amazon vouchers of £50.

Note: the first 4 x £50 Amazon prizes were distributed at the start of January to the following lucky winners: 1); 2); 3); 4)

Four more £50 Amazon prizes were distributed in April: 1); 2); 3); 4)
